ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Thirst Foundation is a non-profit organization and an initiative of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders (YGL) founded by Mina Guli. YGL is a unique, multi-stakeholder community of more than 700 exceptional young leaders who share a commitment to shaping the future. We are solving the global water crisis by creating large, inspirational, out of the box campaigns that build a global ecosystem of stakeholders mobilized to cure water blindness, put water on the top of the global agenda and work together to deliver bold, groundbreaking action on water.
We are now looking to scale our current campaign: Keep the Colorado River Running. A bold, 4 Month campaign to put water on the agenda and mobilise commitments from companies, investors, and policy makers to close the gap on UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 targets by mobilising millions of people to step up for water and reaching billions with our messages.
Job Description
To solve the global water crisis, we need action. To elicit action, we need to raise awareness. To raise awareness, our CEO, Mina Guli has embarked on Save the Colorado. She will be running, from the source of the Colorado to the Sea. While Mina is physically covering the miles, you and the rest of the on-the-ground support team are integral to her success and the overall success of the Thirst Foundation campaign.
We are looking for a capable, flexible and mission-driven *Support Driver & Field Crew Member* to join the *Keep the Colorado River Running Campaign* in support of Mina Guli’s global campaign for water sustainability. This high-impact journey will cover multiple locations across the U.S., combining endurance running with community engagement and advocacy.
You will report to the Director of Logistics based in Australia and work closely with the rest of the on-the-ground team to ensure that the campaign goals are met during the expedition “leg”.
You must possess a can-do spirit and be willing to pitch in and be part of the small six-person field team. You must be able to perform in high-stress situations and, at times, under difficult conditions.
Responsibilities
Accompany the Thirst team across various U.S. locations as the designated driver, operating different vehicle types including 4WDs, campervans, or small vehicles.
Drive the support vehicle occasionally alongside Mina during her daily runs.
Assist with logistics and branding, ensuring campaign signage and vehicle decals are visible and maintained.
Prepare meals and snacks for Mina and the support team in field conditions. Including all shopping for meals.
Set up and pack down nightly camps, including tents and basic amenities.
Perform *general support tasks as required*, contributing to the smooth running of the expedition.
Inclusions
Thirst will cover the costs of your flights, ground transportation, accommodations and food during the expedition in accordance with Thirst policies.
